Just before Christmas my husband and I moved to Colorado Springs, CO. Having nothing but time to think about everything and how much I hate myself and who I have become, I decided it was time for a change. The year 2010 I experienced three of the happiest moments of my life. *On March 7, 2010 I became Mrs. Chadd Holmes. I married the love of my life. *On May 8, 2010 I graduated with a BSN from James Madison University. *On July 16, 2010 I commissioned as a 2LT in the US Army at Ft Lewis, WA. These three events are nothing compared to everything that went wrong last year. Everything that I need to change.....
- I spent the first 9 months of my marriage separated from my husband. We got married, went on our Honeymoon in Myrtle Beach, then he had to go back to Hampton Roads to work. I finally graduated from college, but there were several things I had to do to prep for LDAC so I stayed in Harrisonburg. We then took a family vacation with the Holmes and the Smiths at Lake Gaston for a week. Because Chadd was leaving for Basic Training shortly after I graduated (3 weeks), and we did not have a home of our own, I did not get to spend any quality time with him before he left. Chadd's Grandma was nice enough to offer her house up to us for the weekend, but again.....he was leaving that Monday. He had a going away party, spent time with his family, etc. (I can't say that I blame him, but because we were so tired by the time that we got back to the house, we just went to sleep....no time spent alone still).
- Prior to leaving for LDAC I had received a speeding ticket, but my court date was while I was in WA state. I got the date changed....but the date became the day after Chadd graduated from Basic Training. This worked out well enough that I could still see Chadd on his family day, but during his only overnight pass I had to leave and drive back to VA for court. I got out of the speeding ticket, but little did I know, that was the last opportunity I would have to spend the night with my husband until Dec 10.
- I took my NCLEX a week after Chadd's graduation and failed HORRIBLY! (I did not study at all due to all of the events going on in my life). Two days after my NCLEX I moved to San Antonio, TX in hopes to make up for all the time I missed with my husband. I did not realize that he would not get a single overnight pass. Not only did he not get any overnight passes, but he had a curfew. On most nights I would be lucky if I got to spend 2 hours with him. It was better than nothing, but it was utterly depressing to sleep alone in a city where I knew no one. (Except my wonderful cousin Jenna, who definitely made life easier!)
- With all of the depressing events in my life and boredom, I became lazy and fat. I stopped running, and exercising period. I put on 30lbs in 2010.
Now that I have explained most of what has gone on, I am going to give you my plan. Don't laugh.
- Lose weight. This one is obvious. I've put on 30 lbs, and I can't afford to buy an all new wardrobe, nor do I want to accept that this is who I am. This is not who I am. I am not happy at this weight, I do not look my best at this weight, and I do not feel my best at this weight. The problem is, I don't see it in the mirror. I only see this horrible image when I see pictures people take of me. That is when I realize that I have a bulging belly, and am developing a double chin. GROSS!
- The Atkins Diet
- P90X- Now I am not saying this is where I am going to start. But I would like to prove to myself that I can do it.
- Cardio 5 x's/week. Mostly running
- Complete my 101 in 1001 from my previous blog. I will post that later....
There are several other things I would like to post, but I am going to just put them in the 101 in 1001. My biggest point is to lose weight, and feel great. Every time I turn on the TV there is a new show about losing weight, and fat America. I don't want to become one that needs help to lose weight. I want to get it now, when I am young. Now that I am 22 years old, and finally have my husband back. My biggest struggle, will be the support of my husband. I love him to death, but he is a lazy, junk food eater. I know that I am doing this for me, but it would be nice if he could find it in himself to participate and help to encourage me. From now on I am going to just post my days events/food journal. This isn't necessarily for anyone's entertainment so much as it is something to keep me motivated. Boot camp for Kristin begins tomorrow at 0600 with a light jog.
